RPG-A-DAY 2015 Day 3: Favorite New Game...Spirit of '77

3. FAVORITE NEW GAME OF THE LAST 12 MONTHS...
Here is another game I Kickstarted that is just boiling over with good ideas, bad attitudes, and a WHOLE lotta funk! Spirit of 77 is the role-playing game of over-the-top action in The 70s Era That Never Was...But You Wish It Was! Kung-fu masters mix it up with glam-rock pretty boys, while street-wise funky punks and good ol' boys try to stick it to The Man. Take one part Shaft, one part Smoky and the Bandit, one part KISS, one part Dukes of Hazzard, one part The Warriors, and mix until blended. Serve with a cold Pabst, and crank up the David Bowie! Spirit of 77 is unabashed gonzo-disco nuttiness in a setting turned up to 11 based on the *World game engine. I have yet to take this game for a personal spin on the game table, but the setting and sheer over-the-top ROCK AND ROLL of this game gives it my favorite recent game position on this list.
